We can't leave out the excitement the capital has to offer! San Jose is the biggest and most beloved city in Costa Rica. They have amazing shops, restaurants, museums, historic sites, parks and markets that all capture the culture and atmosphere of the country.
Arrive at any time in San Jose. Feel free to explore upon your arrival, but be sure to make it back to your accommodation in time for the evening group meeting to review the details of your tour and meet the other group members. Spend the night in San Jose before we depart on the morning of day 2 for La Fortuna.
Hop on a private van with the group and head to Sarapiquí where we will spend the morning visiting Mi Cafecito Community Coffee Plantation. From there we will go to La Fortuna and the Arenal region where you will have a free afternoon before we soak in local hot springs later in the evening. Day 3 is a free day. Spend the day getting your adrenaline pumping, viewing local wildlife, marveling at the Arenal Volcano and getting to know more about Costa Rica in La Fortuna. Your guide will be able to give you recommendations on the best activities for your free time.
Travel across Lake Arenal with your group before arriving in Monteverde. You will have a free evening to explore with the other group members before enjoying a guided tour of Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve on day 5. Opt to fly above the trees on a canopy zip line tour, go horseback riding in the hills, drive ATVs off-road, visit the Monteverde Butterfly Garden or check out the hanging bridges upon the completion of the tour.
Travel to Quepos on a private van and spend two days checking out this surf town and visiting Manuel Antonio National Park on the Central Pacific Coast with the rest of your group. Your adventurous side will come out while being surrounded by the radiant rainforest, hiking trails, and natural wildlife. Take time to relax on the white-sand beaches and clear blue water. Opt to swim, fish, kayak, surf, or sail. Check out the exotic night life and dance the night away.
Spend the morning of day 8 with your group in Quepos checking off any last minute activities from your bucket list before departing for San Jose later that afternoon. You and your group members will spend the night in San Jose and can depart at any time on day 9.

Once you arrive to your accommodation in San Jose, transport between each destination is provided. You will be traveling on a private or shared van with the members of your group. Please note that round trip flights to San Jose are not included.

Enjoy a guided tour of Santa Elena Cloud Forest Reserve in Monteverde. This tour will take you on an adventure in the forest that literally sits high in the clouds. Trudge along 12km (7 mi) of trails, watch for wildlife, and trek to the top of the observation tower.
Learn everything there is to know about coffee from touring the Mi Cafecito Community Coffee Plantation. See shade-grown coffee plants, learn about everything from harvesting, to husking, drying, and roasting the beans before enjoying the best part – a fresh cup! Enjoy a typical lunch of plantains, beans, and freshly caught tilapia fish.
Relax in the shadow of the Arenal Volcano in La Fortuna while soaking in the local hot springs. Immerse yourself in therapeutic waters heated by the earth’s magma and infused with healing minerals and salts.
